With about 1 month to go before taking off the California for the Double Pump tournaments, the 16U Samurai had another match-up with the U16 Japan National Team. The Samurai were hoping to ride momentum from their last win against team Japan, but the Samurai fell behind in the second half and couldn't keep pace. The Samurai went down 60-72. The Tokyo Samurai took on Japan's U16 National Team in a pair of games in October. The national team prepping for their upcoming U16 FIBA Asia tournament challenged the Samurai to get them ready for their tournament. With virtually no practice, the Samurai hung tough with the national team, keeping the games tight throughout. In both games, the Samurai were within striking distance late in the game but let the distance widen in the final minutes.
